Tie Dye

from Suburban Blues by Brendan Mott

lyrics

That one big star is shining bright tonight
deep in the sky, I look for light
Mystery and questions surround it all
Some day a shooting star will fall

There will always be those questions
where you have no answer
like why is there death and theres cancer
some say theres a god and he hates us
others think that he is ritcheous and will save us all
all i know is i’m here
and there are others around me
so just don't be a dick
and be the best that you can be

why do we fight to save ourselves
we never think about the others
why start war when we could have peace
while kids hide under the covers
i don’t know
in an indecent world
i do the best i can

know one should control you
don’t get bossed around
stand up tall like an oak tree
and take the upper ground
you don’t need to frustrated
that’s just bad for your health
say please and say thank you
and believe in yourself
things are easier said than done
and i can’t change you people
i can’t change the world
But I can fight until we’re equal

why do we fight to save ourselves
we never think about the others
why start war when we could have peace
while kids hide under the covers
i don’t know
in an indecent world
i do the best i can

well i just keep rolling along the way
everybody else is behind me
try to start a movement
or just raise some hell
i’ll try my best, i’m doin pretty well
